The Aladdin Resort And Casino is currently an Arabian Nights themed luxury hotel and casino on the Strip in Las Vegas. In 2006 plans are underway to change the theme of the casino to a Los Angeles / Planet Hollywood motif due to the 2003 sale of the Aladdin to a joint venture between Starwood hotels and Planet Hollywood.

Significant features of the Aladdin Resort include a 500,000 square foot shopping area with 130 shops, a large gaming area with an exclusive high rollers parlor, 2,600 hotel rooms, a luxurious spa and health facility, a 75,000 sq foot convention center, and the Aladdin Theatre for the Performing Arts. Upon the completion of the redesign, hotel rooms, the shopping area, restaurants, and the casino floors will be decorated with Hollywood artifacts, framed movie posters, and movie props & costumes. The proposed name of the new resort is Planet Hollywood Resorts and Casinos and should be completely transitioned by 2007.

Random Fact

The original Aladdin casino, which was imploded in 1998 to make room for the current Aladdin, was the site of Elvis and Priscilla Presley's wedding in 1967. The chapel in which they were married in still remains to this day and is a popular site of many weddings.
